18 Weeks!

I'm 18 weeks today...I'm an adult! LOL
This week Sprout...I mean Kyle (still getting used to saying that) is as big as this Sweet Potato!! His daddy will be happy cause he loves sweet potatoes. The ultrasound tech said he was about 8 oz.

I'm hoping to start feeling him more and more. I have been feeling more pressure down there in certain areas when he's moving around so that's cool. Still can't wait till I feel real kicks and Ben can feel them too. I'll post my 18 week belly pic. I think It will be a little smaller than last week, but I think that's cause I was extra bloated last week. We'll see....

Sprout is growing

Today I definitely feel bigger than ever before. I was wearing my regular pants with a belly band and it just was too uncomfortable. I couldn't zip the pants so they wouldn't stay up in the back..I went home at lunch and changed into my maternity pants...those are even feeling tight today. This morning when I got to work though it was the weirdest thing the lower part of my stomach was hard in one place then it would move to another spot and anytime I turned a certain way or crossed my legs it felt like something was in the way...must be Sprout betting bigger! I will post a new pic on Thursday.

And let's not even talk about the upper portions above my stomach...I was thrilled to go to Victoria Secret last week and buy myself a bigger bra...Ben's hoping it lasts after Sprout and breastfeeding. LOL...me too :) I've heard that it's when you are laying down you can feel the baby more but I find it's when I'm sitting. It may be my tilted uterus but I'm not sure. I just can't wait too see how big Sprout's gotten on the ultrasound next week!

16 Weeks and appt update

Well I had an appt. today. It went well. I brought my MIL and she was happy to come and be involved. We got to hear Sprout's heartbeat. It was beating good and strong though we didn't get a BPM. I found out that I'm O negative, so we have to find out if Ben is RH positive and if he is then I have to take medicine for it cause I don't want my blood conflicting with Sprout's. So we'll see. I also set the date for the big ultrasound!! Feb 17th! I'm hoping sprout cooperates and we get to find out boy or girl...we are so anxious to know and finally name the baby! Ben especially is anxious to know too...So I decided to start a poll on my blog for you guys to vote on what you think it is. My opinion seems to change weekly. For a long time I felt like it was a boy, now I'm thinking a girl. We'll know in a week and a half though!! Yay!! We're so excited!

New bump pic

Here's my 15 week 2 day pic and a bonus you can see the nursery in it's current state behind me. The room is so small I'm not sure how I'll get a pic of it all once it's done.

15 Weeks

Well since Sprout measured ahead at the last ultrasound but they didn't want to move my due date up technically today I am 15 weeks...Anyhow...I haven't blogged much this week because not much has happened. My Bradley Method book came in...it's been a really good read so far I'm just trying to figure out how everything will work with that. I've already gotten lots of criticism for "going all natural" it's actually kind of sad. Even DH says, "Don't be too proud to take drugs." It's not that I'm saying I'm some super human who can do everything. I just feel that natural is best for me and Sprout...God forbid I might want to do something GOOD for my baby. I also feel that my body should be given the chance to do what God created it to. Thus far my body has done everything by the book - menstruation, ovulation, and getting pregnant. Of course I understand God has control over all that and I know that anything could happen during labor and birth but 90% of people who practice and use the Bradley Method have had sucessful natural births. That's a good statistic.

I like the Bradely method because they aren't against ANY medical intervention...only if it's medically necessary...that's what I want. It's stupid and irresponsible to refuse medical attention if it's medically necessary. I'm praying that God brings a Bradley Method class to my attention. I've been looking but haven't found one yet. That will really help my husband. Plus I decided whoever is in my room with me for the labor and birth is going to need my birth plan because I don't want them trying to tell me to get an epidural or anything like that.

Right now I will continue praying that God prepares Ben and Me for this difficult and strenuous thing called labor...I realize he has NO idea how much work it will be for BOTH of us. I've already told him, if he can't be committed to this and practice with me, then I will find someone who can...thank goodness I have a Doula and a mommy who would do great.

Buying baby things

It think since I'm in the 2nd Tri now it's okay to start looking at all the baby gear!! This week I've been doing lots of online research, talking to other mom's and I made my first treck to BRU (Babies R Us). There is SO many options out there. I told Ben I'd do the research and then come up with my picks and get the okay from him...he says he wants to have input on anything over $20...LOL.

So here's a pic of the Evenflo travel system I want. I LOVE the pattern and the Z-shaped handle is so wonderful. The baby carrier is light as is the stroller but still seems sturdy. The stroller is really easy to fold up too. I tried the Graco's but they seemed more bulky and heavy. I've debated at using one of those jogging type strollers but after pushing both I didn't notice a difference with smoothness or ease and if you get a travel system you save alot of $$$ than when you buy them separately. Plus Ben LOVES this pattern.

The next thing to figure out...co-sleeping...it's not what it used to be (having the baby sleep in your bed all the time...That will be one to research and discuss with Ben.
