17 weeks and dr appt

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=126zZsEDYBnDXt1M3H97oiKSXwoQzytTT
Had an appointment today and everything went great. Baby is super active my midwife said as she was chasing for the heartbeat. It was ranging from high 140’s to low 150’s. Got my thyroid bw drawn like I do every 6 weeks. My bp was still a bit high 143/77 but I was rushing to get there and maybe sat for 5 min. Plus breathing in a mask makes it hard too.  My midwife is moving so she referred me to who she thinks would be best for me and that is an OBnin the same office. I’m fine with that cause I still get a midwife for delivery as long as everything goes well and no C-section. So other updates this week:
Movement: a lot more consistent I also felt from
The outside once this week.

Cravings: blt’s still lol and just protein in general and chocolate

Symptoms: just fatigue at the end of the day like I fall
asleep by 8:30pm. I’m also having strange dreams which according to my baby app happens around now. I am hungry a lot too but trying to eat as healthy as I can and still gluten-free like I have for the past 6 years. It helps me a lot.

Exercise: barre3 and walking and trying to get as many house projects done as I can while I still feel good and can bend over.

Weight- I kept track of this all my other pregnancies I realized so I guess I will this time too. +14lb from Pre-pregnancy

10 days till my anatomy scan and gender reveal!! Can’t wait! That will be my next update probably.

12 Weeks and Ultrasound

Weekly updates are so fun even if I don’t get to them each week. Reaching 11 and now 12 weeks feels like such a milestone after my loss at 10.5 weeks. I went and had an elective ultrasound since we don’t do the genetic testing I wanted to see baby and did a “peace of mind” ultrasound. Isn’t it so cool they do that?! It’s about the cost of my copay for the Dr so I thought why not?! They didn’t have that option when I was pregnant with the boys.
But here are a few bump pictures first:
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=118fPkLTU0lrsg3PrS5gU_X0r07lhiOWt
11 weeks
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1GROpFVFnCJUeIGSuOYHmS8nQuevcy3JZ
12 weeks
Here is a comparison shot from Kyle at 15 weeks...lol
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1cuVeZauL_mX9fA-MLRIXODeqIkJDDnsl
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yCk4oGI-xPEw68XaVTs0RJddn5x_L6oA
13 weeks with Eli.
So definitely getting bigger faster but that’s expected with baby #3.

So here are some ultrasound pics from today.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1xrrvUGrVggra5T08r9OtA1_vPljnB41ihttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1we0_mmVw5wWBMskaTdlDzsfxOzOK7eMhhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1wyVMfDqCSqUXlGMchpWQo3RJH7DszkZl
Heart rate was 168. Baby just loved snuggling up to my placenta and wouldn’t turn over so we got its backside lol. It loved stretching its legs out. Everything looked great! She even said the nuchal folds look good! So thankful for healthy baby so far.
This place was so cool with a cough and a real bed for the mom. I want to take the boys in a few months so they can see it since they can’t come to any of my appointments and this place allows 3 people! My mom and Ben’s mom came with me today and they loved it.

Symptoms:
Morning sickness is much better but I randomly lost my breakfast this morning and that leaves me tired and feeling bad all day even though I woke up feeling fine and worked out... it’s so weird. I have never thrown up during a pregnancy no matter how nauseous I felt and this time I’ve done it twice but not after feeling nauseous it just comes out of nowhere.  But here’s to hoping this is the last time now I’m so close to the 2bd trimester.
I have been able to cook again though so my family appreciates that.
Allergies and stuffy nose have been BAD. Could be the crazy wind we’ve had too.
I still wake up hungry many nights and to pee at least 3 times. Poor Ben said he’s gonna start sleeping on the couch after a particularly restless night poor guy.
Some days I’m exhausted and other days I do ok.

Cravings:
Orange juice settles my stomach in the morning weird I know. I also have made banana nut pancakes twice this week lol. And had turkey sandwiches on a bagel at least twice too.

Movement:
I’ve been feeling baby flutter the last week and it’s getting more frequent! It was confirmed on ultrasound cause the baby was kicking on my left side where I have been feeling it most! So that’s really exciting. They said my placenta is posterior like with Eli and I felt him around the same time. Kyle was weeks later with an anterior placenta.

10 Weeks

So fun we got to announce our pregnancy on the interwebs this week. I decided I wanted to to before my 10 week appointment because if it didn't go well I didn't want to feel how I did last time like I wanted to post about my loss but couldn't because no one knew. I'm really glad I did. Everyone was so kind and supportive. I got texts and messages with people congratulating and offering their baby things. It was wonderful.

I had a good 10 weeks appointment today I'm happy to report :) I'm going to  a new hospital and OB office than all my previous births because things have changed in the last 10 years and this hospital is the best for having a midwife. Actually the other hospital doesn't allow midwives at all anymore which is such a shame. God completely worked it out because I didn't have the right insurance to the hospital I wanted but because of COVID I was able to switch to the insurance my work offers which is for the hospital I wanted. Thank you Lord!! So that is one blessing for me personally from COVID.

I had to see an OB for my first appointment because I'm 35 (insert eye roll here)...which I found out really doesn't mean anything for me cause I'm healthy thankfully. He was great though and did a quick ultrasound to check on baby to ease my fears. It was a huge blessing. And he said I can switch to a midwife if I'd like. I'm really excited about the midwife I'm going to see next time. She's a naturopath too!!

So I'm over the moon excited today with the good report. I celebrated by buying some maternity shorts and a bella band cause nothing fits anymore.

Symptoms: HUNGRY, nausea isn't constant anymore thank goodness, TIRED. I want to go to bed at like 8pm

Movement: None yet. Hoping I will feel the baby soon!

Cravings: Fresh fruit and veggies. Everything bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon and tomato and cucumber....it's all very specific. It's like if that sounds good I better eat it cause nothing else does.

Exercise: Barre3 and walks!

I will post a bump date comparison soon too.

Next appt is September 18th

38 weeks

Well we are getting down to the very end, and boy does my body feel like it. Between not hardly being able to walk from hip pain and peeing every 2 minutes I'm getting tired. I know it is all worth it and I have had such a great pregnancy I am truly thankful. Here's the stat's from today's appt.

Weight: +33 1/2 lbs pre-preg
BP- 120/?? (higher because this was right after I was told my glucose test was normal and I am negative for group B step!)

Fundal height: 37 1/2 cm
BPM- 130-160 it jumped when he got excited which is perfect, it means he's active and his placenta is still functioning well

Progress- That will be a mystery till I go into labor because she doesn't do any more checks and for good reason- once you know your cervix is "ripe" for labor like mine any more progress won't determine "when" labor will begin...I'm cool with that cause they hurt! I did have contractions for 6 hours yesterday and 4 hours last Friday...awesome!

Praise God I am GBS negative so if my water breaks I can still labor at home for a while. Also I was spilling glucose and now I'm not, and I don't have late onset gestational diabetes!! I'm going to go eat ice cream now...

So that's it...next appt. is Monday.

36 Week appt 1 day before 37 weeks

Well today was my 36 weeks appt. and tomorrow I'm 37 weeks! Yay for full term!

Total weight gain/loss: 31 lbs though I think a few of that was water weight
BP: 100/67
Fundal height: 36cm
Heartrate: 130bpm
Maternity clothes? they suck and don't cover up my belly that has recently dropped.
Stretch marks? yep, the ones from puberty on my hips have grown and I have a few faint ones that are under my belly that I can only see in the mirror.
Sleep: My hips hurt so it's hard sometimes.
Best moment this week: My appt today!
Movement: He's a little wiggle worm sometimes, he just can't get comfortable as he's running out of room.
Food cravings: BBQ sandwhich
Gender: little boy
Labor Signs: Crampy and Braxton Hicks, 2cm dialated and 50% effaced!
Button in or out? It sticks out a little but not as much as it could
What I miss: feeling pretty and fitting in my clothes
What I am looking forward to: having him here!
Milestones: Tomorrow I'm full term.

AND- she thinks he's 5 1/2 to 5lbs 13oz.

36 Weeks

Wow! I'm so happy to have made it this far. The birth of little Kyle is just over the horizon and I'm getting so excited. I told Kyle to figure out where the exit is and start getting ready. I'd love for him to drop anytime now so by the end of the day I can breathe...But I have a feeling he'll hang out higher for a few more weeks yet...we'll see. I'm also counting down the days till I get to go to part-time at work...only 5 more after today! WooHoo! It will be so weird to not be working all the time, but so nice too. I don't have another Dr. appt till next Wedensday so I don't have any updates for you there but here's what's going on with the baby at 36 weeks...

Week Thirty Six: Baby may drop into the birth canal

You are 36 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 34 weeks)
The baby is about 19 inches (48 cm) long.
Weight is around 6 pounds (2.7 kg).
The baby's body is becoming chubby as fat layers build.
Between now and birth they may gain about an ounce (30g) a day
You may feel contractions of the womb, called Braxton Hicks contractions. While it says that your baby weighs six and a half pounds this week and measures 19 inches long, this is only an estimate. In general, babies are gaining half a pound per week now. Baby continues gaining weight as fat deposits and is forming creases in the neck and wrists. You may feel contractions of the womb, called Braxton Hicks contractions, which can be used to perform and practice breathing exercises. You may be visiting your caregiver weekly up until the birth. Regular internal exams may begin, to see if your cervix has softened, thinned, dilated or if your baby's head is dropping into the pelvis. Any of these could be signs of impending labor but there are no guarantees and you could be waiting for weeks yet. Your baby is almost ready, a pair of kidneys and the liver has begun processing some waste products, the only organ still to mature is the lungs. This week your baby may drop into the birth canal, this is called 'lightening' or 'dropping'. If this is not your first baby, this 'lightening' may not occur until right before labor. Your care provider may refer to it by saying that your baby is now 'engaged'. The majority of babies are now in the birth position, either head down (vertex) or butt down (breech), most will maintain this position until birth. Any movements that they make are more likely to be rolls from side to side. You may notice when this happens because it will suddenly become much easier for you to breathe. While breathing becomes easier, walking may be the exact opposite. If your baby has dropped you may find yourself visiting the bathroom much more often as baby is resting right on top of your bladder again. The average twin birth occurs between 36 and 37 weeks and the babies weigh an average of 5 pounds apiece. A baby's average size is now 18.5 inches (47 cm) and 6 pounds (2700 g).

35/35

35/35 is something fun we post on thebump.com. It means 35 weeks and 35 days to go! I'm getting more and more excited to meet this little guy and to also know what real labor is like. Yesterday I was having some cramping and lots of Braxton Hicks even though I drank a ton of water. I think I was just over tired, they went away once I went to sleep. I had my 34 week appt. yesterday (it's so weird having an appt for the previous week the day before I start the next week).

Here's the stats.
Weight- +28lb pre-preg
BP- 102/70
Fundal Height- 35in (she said I'm definitely running out of room)
Heartrate- 145-148bpm (he was super active so that's why it was higher- she said he's a happy little guy today)
Progress- won't get my first internal till 38 weeks- but she did say his head is getting wedged in my pelvis (sounds painful I know) but this is a GREAT thing.

Now I'm just counting down the days till I go to part-time at work. 10 days left! WOW! That will make things so much better because I get so exhausted in the afternoons. So next appt. is July 1st and then I will have weekly appts. after that. So next week is the only week I have left without an appt!
This weekend I think I will work on installing the carseat and setting up the pack n play. That should be fun!

34 Weeks

You are 34 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 32 weeks)
Your baby now is approximately 18 inches long and weighs about 5.25 pounds.
Baby is now 46cm crown to heel and the weight is 2400 grams.
Your child has now an excellent chance of survival outside the womb.
Fat accumulations plumps up the arms and legs this week.
Eyes opened when awake and closed when sleeping.
The fingernails are now completely formed.
Even babies born earlier than this could survive outside the womb with hospital support although the risk of complications would be high. Your baby may have already turned to a head down position in preparation for birth. The skull bones are still pretty flexible and not completely joined to help to ease exit out of the narrow birth canal. Fat accumulations plumps up the arms and legs this week. The baby's skin is also becoming less wrinkled. Braxton Hicks contractions may be getting more numerous and stronger. Thanks to antibodies crossing the placenta the baby is developing immunities to mild infections.

33 Weeks

Week Thirty Three: Lanugo is disappearing
You are 33 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 31 weeks)
The baby is now 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and around 17.5 inches (44cm) in length.
The diameter of the head is about 8.5cm.
The baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing.
Your baby drinks about a pint of amniotic fluid a day
You may gain a pound a week (500g) for the rest of your pregnancy.
Half of your weight gain will go directly to your baby.

The baby is using it's lungs to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. Your baby is drinking about a pint of amniotic fluid a day now and urinating the same amount. The early baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing now and being replaced by actual hair. The nails of your baby are now long enough to reach to the tip of the fingers or beyond and may need trimming as soon as they are born. They may scratch their face even before birth.

You may gain a pound a week for the rest of your pregnancy. Do not stop eating or start skipping meals as your weight increases. Both you and your baby need the calories and nutrition you receive from a healthy diet. Calcium intake is extremely important during pregnancy because the baby will draw calcium from the mother to make and harden bone. This can greatly weaken her own bones and teeth because the developing fetus will take minerals from the mother's skeletal structure as needed.

I know I promised a new picture...just haven't gotten around to taking it. I will I promise though!

32 Weeks

Week Thirty Two: Reproductive development continues

You are 32 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 30 weeks)

The baby is 17 inches (43cm) long and weighs 4 pounds (1.8 kilograms).

The diameter of the head is almost 4 inches (10cm).

Under the skin the fat layer is getting thicker.

The toenails and fingernails are completely formed.

In boys, the testicles will be descending from the groin down into his scrotum.

During this time the baby sleeps most of the day. The uterus is getting to be a small space for the baby to move about, so you may have noticed a decrease in your baby's movements. The baby is still trying to move frequently but it just does not have enough room. The baby will turn its head from side to side and move its hands.

As space in your uterus becomes more cramped, your baby's kicks and other movements may seem less forceful. You may want to check on your baby's movements from time to time and do a kick count.

If your baby is a boy, his testicles are moving from their location near the kidneys through the groin on their way into the scrotum. If your baby is a girl, her clitoris is now relatively prominent.

The baby will now weigh about 4 pounds (1.8 kg). Half of your weight gain now will go directly to baby. If you are carrying twins or more, their weight increase will be slower than singletons because of the lack of room in the uterus.

Are you waddling? This is because the ligaments in your pelvis have softened, allowing your hips to spread in preparation for birth. If you find that the increased weight of your breasts is uncomfortable when sleeping try wearing a soft but supportive bra to bed.

31 weeks

31 weeks
Week Thirty One: Baby detects light
You are 31 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 29 weeks)
Baby weighs 3.5 pounds and measures 16.5 inches from the head to heel.
Baby's weight is about 1.6 kg and length around 42cm.
The eyes have now completely opened and are responding to light and darkness.
A loud noise near you may cause your little one to jump.Your baby continues to grow. Baby's lungs and digestive tract are very near to being mature. Now that almost all of the major organs are functioning, growth will focus on maturing those organs and growing muscle mass and fat stores. Baby's weight gain will exceed its growth in length from now on. He or she should more than double their weight again between now and birth. It weighs about 3.5 pounds (1.6kg), and crown to rump length is 11 inches (28cm). Its total length is 16.5 inches (42cm).A loud noise near you may cause your little one to jump. Baby may move to the rhythm of music. Studies with heart rates show that they may also prefer some types of music to others at this stage. The eyes can now completely open and the irises are now responsive to light, dilating and contracting as needed. You will probably find that though you have been feeling pretty energetic throughout your second trimester, you are beginning to slow down now. Pay attention to your body's signals and rest when you need to. Exercise is still an important activity for you, even though it gets harder as you get larger and heavier. Try swimming, stretching and walking all excellent options for pregnant women.Your total pregnancy weight gain by this time should be between 21 and 28 pounds (9.5 and 12.5kg).

Oh and if I haven't said it already...Kyle get's hiccups alot. He had them 3 times yesterday...he's just practicing his breathing so that's great! I love my little boy!
Tomorrow we go tour the birthing center at the hospital; I'm excited for that!

30 Weeks! Yay!

Compare 28 weeks to 30 weeks...bigger and bigger

I don't know why but 30 weeks is super exciting to me...Here's what we can expect now... (stole this from a fellow blogger who turned 30 weeks yesterday!) Check out her blog and keep her and her little one in your prayers...

30 week milestone
Week Thirty: Baby puts on pounds
You are 30 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 28 weeks)
Baby measurements are 16 inches and weighs about 3 pounds.
Length is 40cm and your baby's weight is 1.4 kilograms.
The head is almost 3.5 inches (8cm) in diameter.
The feet are nearly 2.5 inches (6cm) long.
The wrinkled skin is becoming smoother now.
In boys, the testicles have moved down to the groin.
The baby controls its own body temperature. For several months, the umbilical cord has been the baby's lifeline to the mother. Nourishment is transferred from the mothers blood, through the placenta, and into the umbilical cord to the fetus. Their bone marrow is now responsible for red cell production. These red blood cells will continue to service your child's body by transporting oxygen and removing the wastes. Your baby begins storing iron, calcium and phosphorus.
The fetus now weighs about 3 pounds (1.4kg). He or she will gain about half a pound a week until week 38. Baby is getting fatter and beginning to control its own body temperature. Baby continues to put on fat stores and the major weight gains will occur in the coming weeks. Eyebrows and eyelashes are fully developed, and hair on the head is getting thicker. Head and body are now proportioned like a newborn. Hands are now fully formed and fingernails are growing, eyelids are opening and closing.
You may be starting to experience some swelling of your ankles and legs. If you have not experience swelling yet, it is highly probable that you will, as approximately 40 to 75 percent of women experience mild swelling related to pregnancy.
Your uterus is now about 4 inches (10cm) above your bellybutton. It may feel like you are running out of room as your uterus grows up under your ribs. However, your fetus, placenta and uterus will continue to get larger, you still have 10 weeks to go. The average weight gain during pregnancy is 25 to 35 pounds (11.5 to 16kg). About half of this weight is concentrated in the growth of the uterus, the placenta, the baby and in the volume of amniotic fluid. At this point, you should be gaining about a pound (500 grams) a week

Wow...29 weeks! I am so excited though for 30 next week...I don't know why but 30 just seems so cool and the fact that I could have my baby boy here before I get to 40 weeks.

28 Weeks

Well 28 weeks started off with a Rhogam (shot) IV...I think it was better than the shot would have been. It went well...I'm happy it's over. Now I know Sprout and I are both protected. He's got a 60% change of getting daddy's blood type (A+) so I'm thankful to modern medicine for this invention. Well Kyle won't be a new fruit (or vegetable) till next week when we get to 7 months so a quiz for the week will have to do.

How far along? 28 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 20+ pre-preg I think.
Maternity clothes? Yep...even some maternity shirts are getting too short
Stretch marks? Yep but no new ones
Sleep: Okay...waking up a lot the last few nights but not feeling too tired.
Best moment this week: Waking up in the mornings and laying in bed feeling Kyle kick
Movement: LOTS...some days more than others
Food cravings: None this week
Gender: Still boy
Labor Signs: had a few Braxton Hicks, but nothing abnormal
Belly Button in or out? Out a little
What I miss: Nothing really
What I am looking forward to: My MW appt next Thursday.
Weekly Wisdom: make sure you know yours and DH's blood type and get the Rhogam shot if you have to...
Milestones: Kyle is opening and closing his eyes now suppsedly and can react to light.

26 weeks

Sorry I don't have a picture for today...I've been sick in bed since I got home from my 3 hour glucose test so you don't even want to know what I look like...it's not pretty. The test was okay. the drink was much more sugary this time. I felt pretty sick for the first hour so after my first draw I asked to lay down and they had a nice little recovery room. That helped. I couldn't lay down for long because with my cold my head was so congested it began to hurt. I didn't want to take any meds this morning before the test because I didn't want to screw up the results. I'm glad I decided to stay home from work afterwards cause I got a nice nap and feel a little better. I haven't missed a day of work since being pregnant (thanks to no morning sickness) so I figured one day would be okay. The worst part was getting stuck with the needle so many times. The last time my blood was coming out so slowly it took forever. I was probably dehydrated some too. Well I'm going back to bed now. I'm hoping for no call from the Dr. that means I passed. Be praying I did!

25 Weeks

First let's compare from last week...wow!

Can we say...huge! J/K I know it's going to get a lot bigger. I can totally tell he's grown this week because my skin feels like it can't stretch anymore! His kicks are getting so strong and frequent. I love it!
He is also as big as this for month 6...eggplant... I tried making it once...it was nasty...I like it at the Olive Garden though!

Also, please be praying for Dawson he was due around the same time as Kyle and was born yesterday. He is doing great but so tiny!!! He has many month in the NICU ahead of him. Click the link to see pictures of him...it was kind of neat to see how big he actually was and that Kyle is around the same size.

24 weeks

Yay for viability day!!! Today marks the day that Kyle has a chance in the outside world! He's also close to 2 lbs! That's just crazy! No wonder I've gained 14...LOL. Next week we should have a new fruit to compare him to...

Thursday, March 26, 2009

23 Weeks

Well we've made it to 23 weeks! Just one more week till viability day. I don't really know why it matters so much to me. Alot of people don't even think twice about it. Just another thing to trust God with. I'm so glad He's in control and I'm not! Anyway, here's my bump shot of the week!

The other day Kyle was so active it was like he was doing soccer kicks in my stomach. My stomach was moving alot it was really funny.

I've been feeling pretty good. I've figured out what Braxton Hicks are and their so weird. I just need to be better about what I've been eating, I'm afraid the Dr. will say I've gained too much weight at my appt Tuesday. It's so so hard when you crave chocolate cake and ice cream!!

22 Weeks

Here's my latest bump picture. I made it with some of my new digital scrapbooking stuff. I'm going to work next on a new header for the page. As you can see it is definitely bigger since last week. His movements have been higher up too. Well this week Kyle is as big as a Papaya! His lungs are maturing and his fingernail are already grown!
