Last days as an only child

Kyle and I haven't had a picture together in a long time and I won't want to forget what it's like to just have him. He won't be an only child much longer. I'm sad and excited at the same time because I'm excited for him to have a playmate and hopefully a friend for life.

I got a few things marked off my list this weekend.

- Bought drawers for the closet (Ben still has to put them together)
- Washed some newborn outfits and blankets.
- Almost finished my nursing cover...just have to sew the pocket

- Gave Kyle a haircut (though that wasn't on the original list)

- Talked to my mom about helping be a labor coach with Ben

We're getting there!

35 weeks

I'm 35 weeks! (sorry no pic from Kyle's pg)


Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 35 Weeks
Size of baby: Around 5.25 lbs - about the size of a honeydew melon
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 30 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I'm down to just a few things I can still fit into. I am pulling out short sleeved maternity tops I wore with Kyle because the weather has been so nice!
Gender: Still boy
Movement: Has days of lots of activity, and seems to sleep more other days.
Sleep: Getting up 3+ times a night to pee or a really painful braxton hicks contraction wakes me up. Some nights I wake up and it takes me like an hour to go back to sleep.
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach, bending over, being able to hold Kyle and walk around.
Cravings: Teddy grahams and chocolate ice cream.
Symptoms: Baby has gotten alot lower, I'm feeling more consistant pressure.
Best Moment this week: I have been nesting like CRAZY! Everyday I have the urge to clean. I never did this with Kyle! Yesterday was bathrooms and my room. Today is the living room, tomorrow the TV room, and who knows what else!!

No appt. this week. We're getting the drawers for the baby this weekend so I can finally wash clothes and the carseat. Here's what I have left to do on my list:

- wash baby clothes, sheets, bouncer and carseat cover
- make new nursing cover

- Clean out my car inside/out and install carseat base
- Pack hospital bag
- Have my baby sprinkle!
- Get a couple new toys to keep Kyle busy in the first few weeks at home

- Put up his name letters in the boys room and wall vinyl
- order new power cord and battery for video monitor- reinstall camera so Kyle can't reach it.

I know I had all this stuff done for Kyle by now, but I'm kind of waiting till the last minute because if I'm wrong and this baby isn't early then I have lots of time to fill in March. Some of the stuff def. doesn't have to be done before the baby comes, but at least washing a few clothes for him and getting the hospital bag packed do.

34 weeks

With Kyle

I waited to update till today cause I had a Dr. appt.

Weight gained- 30lbs pre-pg
Measuring- 34cm
BP- 114/76
HB- 140's up to 170 when he was moving...she said he's getting very oxiginated when he moves...very good.
She also thought he is a little over 5 lbs.
One more 2 week appt. then they go to every week. So exciting! Getting to the end now!
Progress: none that I know of

We're finishing up some things on the walls in the boys new room, then I promise I'll get pictures up!

18 and 19 months

So I realize that I didn't post Kyle's 18 month update so you're getting two months in one!

He's growing up so fast...he's definitely a toddler now, and all boy!
He's in 24 month clothes now, 24 lbs, and 32 in tall. Still less than the 50th percentile, but higher than the 10th where he has been, and wears size 6 shoes.
He is talking more and more each day. He tries to say words we say all the time.
He is very into cars and trucks and points them out as we drive in the car everyday. He hasn't put two words together yet, but I don't think it's too far off.
He is also becoming more and more independent and thus disobedient as well. He goes in time out now multiple times a day and has even had to get a few spanks. Discipline is no fun, but God call us to do it as parents.

But Kyle is a real joy for the most part. He is very affectionate when he wants to be and kisses all his stuffed animals, and animals in his books, and of course mommy and daddy, and baby brother in mommy's tummy.

Valentine's Day

For many people, Valentine's Day is one of their least favorite days of the year. But I have always liked it! My mom always made it special growing up, so even if I was single I didn't feel left out. I think that's why I've been so excited today to make it a special day for Kyle. I got to give him little gifts throughout the day even though he doesn't quite get it yet. I also of course enjoyed getting to make the day special for Ben. We decided this year to not spend alot of money going out or anything and he got me a pregnancy massage on Friday, which was lovely and very much needed! So even though it's been a quiet day, it's been really nice.

33 weeks

How far along- 33 weeks
Size of baby- cantaloupe
Movement- lots...I'm getting pretty tired of getting kneed in the stomach...he hurts!
Don't have any other stats...next Dr. appt will be next Thurs. I'll update then.

Progress- getting lower for sure...I also have no appetite lately...I don't think my stomach has room to fit anything.

I'm thankful that things are getting to the end...I'm so ready to have this baby!

Who was rocking who to sleep?

32 week appt

Sorry the update is so late this week...we've been dealing with snow all week and the cold below-zero temps have caused lots of problems...Ben even had to come home early yesterday and is off today because they don't have any gas to heat his work. Luckily we have gas and are warm and cozy.

Today I had my 32 week appt. and here's where things are at.
Weight- +29lbs pre pg.
BP- 114/?? better than last time though
Fundal height- 31cm...maybe this baby will be smaller than Kyle?- She guesses he is about 4.5lbs right now.
Heartrate- between 133 and 140 bpm
Progress- His head is getting lower and more in the middle rather than off to one side.
Movement- I can't believe how active he is...I sure hope this isn't a sign of his personality...LOL
Best moment of the week- getting the letters for his room and buying him a few little outfits...it's starting to get more exciting...It's sad there is now baby shower to look forward to with this one but that's ok.

I asked the midwife if she'll strip my membranes once I get close to my due date (I did this at my 38 week appt with Kyle and my water broke the next night)...she said yes if I wanted her too. So that's comforting.


33 weeks with Kyle and 32 weeks 3 days with #2

And I think we decided on a name finally. But I haven't decided if I will share before he's born...I might just leave you all in suspense! I will be posting a poll in the coming weeks so everyone can guess what his weight and length will be when he's born. Only 6-8 more weeks...it feels like it's taking forever now!
